CALLING ALL BETH CHAIM

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!

My experience as an educator and youth advocate have shown me that younger students love learning from older students, and older students are uniquely talented at connecting with younger students. Therefore, one of my top priorities for our Beit Midrash next year is to build a Madrachim Leadership Development Program!

I’d like to invite all Beth Chaim high school students to Zoom brainstorming sessions so I can build the program around their skills and interests:

Tuesday, April 27 at 5:15 pm      or      Sunday, May 2 at 5:15 pm

Meeting ID: 925 963 7038
Passcode: 111347

Those who attend either session will get a $5 gift card to a
drink place of their choice (Jamba Juice or Starbucks)!

If your teen is interested in participating, please email me with the session they’d like to attend. If your student is unable to attend but wants to learn more, please email me and we’ll find another time to talk!

Madrichim (Teen Guides) – Looking Forward, Giving Back.

We are very proud that three of our amazing teachers studied here as children, then as teens became madrichim, and now they have returned, full circle, to teach the new generation of students!  Madrichim contribute in several ways.  Some help on Sundays to support our teachers in classroom activities, and some assist during the week to help with Hebrew studies so the students become as capable as they are.  Our madrichim are proud to utilize their Jewish learning by leading games and discussion groups, while having special treats Sunday morning, bonding with other teens, and contributing meaningfully to our Beit Midrash programs.  In return they receive respect and appreciation from the community, plus job references and college recommendations!

If you are interested in becoming one of our madrichim, click here for more information and an on-line application.

Midrasha

Contra Costa Midrasha is our continuing Jewish education program for teens grades 8-12.   In conjunction with other synagogues in the area, teens join together Wednesday nights weekly in Walnut Creek to cut loose, relax, hang-out with friends, learn new things, eat donuts and make a difference in the Jewish environment.  Midrasha also offers weekend retreats and fundraising and volunteering programs on Sundays. Click on the link to learn more about Contra Costa Midrasha.
