CSPI FullColor IconThrough our Chavurah Program, Beth Chaim offers members another opportunity to get to know, and develop relationships with, other families within our congregation.

As part of a chavurah, you will get together with other Beth Chaim members in a small group setting. While having fun at social events and holiday celebrations, you will strengthen your connection to the Beth Chaim community and make lasting friendships. Particularly in today’s world, our members find forming these meaningful connections to be of great value.

What is a chavurah? A Chavurah (literally translated as a “friendship circle”) is a small group of members who get together to socialize, celebrate, learn together. Members find that belonging to a chavurah enriches their experience at Beth Chaim through meaningful relationships, positive connections, and shared experiences.

How does it work? The chavurah coordinator will put groups together (match individuals or families) and the chavurah will create their own events for the year. We recommend that each individual/family host or coordinate 1 or 2 events during the year.

Who organizes the events? We suggest that the group chooses a coordinator who can help with communication and to ensure that each host has what they need for the activity to run smoothly.

Do I have to attend every event?  It is not required that you attend every event, but we have found that the more you attend, the greater the group cohesion will be.

How will I be placed into a chavurah? Once you complete the chavurah interest form, the coordinators will match you with other Beth Chaim members with similar interests and family dynamics.

How do I sign up? We have an interest form that you can complete either online or on paper and return to the Beth Chaim office. The Chavurah coordinator will contact you about matching you with an existing or forming chavurah. Contact the Beth Chaim office for a copy of the interest form, or click here: INTEREST FORM.

Do I need to be a Beth Chaim member to join a chavurah? Yes.
